Under general supervision, a General Mechanic performs journey-level work at a skilled and semiskilled level in a combination of trades in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. A General Mechanic may also perform journey-level work in a specific trade with additional qualifications and certification requirements as noted in a job announcement.
